The Raptor's Brake Spec Is Different From a Standard F-150
The Ford F-150 Raptor isn't a trim level — it's a factory-built desert racing truck with a brake specification meaningfully different from the standard F-150. 2-Piece Rotor Design: Thermal Shock and High-Speed Performance
Off-road and desert running create brake conditions street vehicles never face — sustained braking on variable terrain, water crossings that introduce thermal shock to hot rotors, and multiple high-speed deceleration events in quick succession with no cool-down between them.
OEM single-piece Raptor rotors crack under thermal shock from water crossings and warp under repeated high-speed braking. Ghost Rotors 2-piece floating design physically decouples the aluminum hat from the iron friction ring — allowing each to expand and contract independently when temperatures change rapidly. This is the engineering solution to both thermal shock and warp simultaneously.
The diamond-slotted surface and cross-drilled cooling holes evacuate heat and debris from the pad face continuously, maintaining full braking grip on desert hardpack, rocky terrain, or wet trail surfaces.

- 3rd Gen Raptor (2021+) with 3.5L EcoBoost V6: 450 HP twin-turbo powerplant, larger rear rotor spec than 2nd gen. Direct-fit Ghost Rotors kit for both front and rear.
- Raptor R (2023+) with 5.2L Predator supercharged V8 (700 HP): Same brake package as the standard 3rd gen Raptor in most configurations — but the Raptor R's power output creates meaningfully higher brake thermal demands. The 2-piece rotor spec handles the Raptor R's full performance envelope.
