Supercharged Hemi Spark Plug Guide: Hellcat & Trackhawk Interval

Spark Plugs Under Supercharged Load

Hellcat and Trackhawk engines run higher cylinder pressures than naturally aspirated Hemis. Spark plugs must fire cleanly under boost and high RPM. Worn plugs cause misfires that feel like boost cut or transmission oddities.

Symptoms and Interval

Use OEM-spec heat range plugs gapped to factory spec. Anti-seize on threads sparingly; torque to spec to avoid damaged cylinder heads.

  • Rough idle or cold-start stumble
  • Misfire codes (P0300 series)
  • Power loss at high RPM
  • Poor fuel economy under light throttle

Service Tip: Full Platform Check

When plugs are due, inspect coils, air filter, and brakes. Hard acceleration and hard braking both stress heat-managed systems on SRT platforms.
