A stock Wrangler JL or Gladiator runs a single AGM battery for starting and basic electrical loads. Add a winch, light bar, onboard air, and a fridge and the factory charging system works overtime — especially during low-RPM rock crawling when the alternator output drops.

On dual-battery setups, always replace both batteries together if they are the same age — mismatched capacity strains the healthier unit.

Jeep ground straps corrode faster than owners expect — especially after water crossings. Before replacing a battery, clean and torque every ground point from the body to the engine block and frame. A weak ground mimics a dead battery and causes intermittent dash warnings.
