The Jeep Gladiator JT shares the JL Wrangler's engine lineup but adds a 5-foot bed, longer wheelbase, and a 7,650-pound tow rating. That means the same Pentastar or EcoDiesel runs under heavier load more often — towing campers on Friday, running trails on Saturday.
Correct oil and interval discipline keeps the bottom end healthy on a platform that asks its engine to do two jobs at once.

Use 0W-20 full synthetic (MS-6395) for the Pentastar; 5W-40 diesel spec for the EcoDiesel. Replace the filter at every change.

Short trips to the trailhead, idle-heavy traffic with a loaded bed, and max towing all qualify as severe duty. If you smell oil after hard climbs or see pressure drops at hot idle after a tow day, service immediately.

The Gladiator's extra mass means brakes work harder on every descent — loaded or empty. Trail mud and towing heat compound pad wear faster than a Wrangler on tires alone. Inspect rotors and pads at every oil change.
