Camaro ZL1 Track Alignment & Tire Guide: Camber, Toe & Pressure

Why Alignment Matters on a 3,800-lb Track Car

The Camaro ZL1 is heavy for a sports car, with a supercharged V8 up front. Track alignment balances turn-in response against tire wear and straight-line stability. Too much camber wears inside edges; too little rolls the shoulder and overheats the outer tread — both reduce grip under braking.

Track Alignment Starting Points

Refer to the points below for specs, intervals, and service tips.

  • Front camber: -2.0° to -2.5° for 200TW street/track tires
  • Rear camber: -1.5° to -2.0°
  • Toe: slight toe-out front for turn-in, toe-in rear for stability
  • Reset to street alignment after track weekends to preserve tire life

Tire Wear Can Signal Brake Issues

Uneven tire wear and brake pad taper often correlate — both indicate alignment, suspension bushing, or caliper issues. If one front pad wears faster than the other, inspect caliper slide pins alongside your alignment check.
