Camaro ZL1 Spark Plugs & Coils Guide: LT4 Interval

Spark Plugs Under Supercharged Load

The LT4 runs higher cylinder pressures than a Camaro SS. Spark plugs must fire cleanly under 650 HP and 650 lb-ft of boost. Worn plugs cause misfires that feel like transmission issues or boost cut — easy to misdiagnose without a scan tool.

Replacement Interval and Spec

Refer to the points below for specs, intervals, and service tips.

  • ACDelco 41-110 or OEM-equivalent iridium plugs
  • Gap to factory spec — do not over-gap for "performance"
  • Replace coils if misfire codes persist after plug change
  • Track/E85 use: inspect at 20,000 miles, replace by 40,000

Full Platform Service Window

When plugs are due, inspect air filter, belts, and brakes. Hard acceleration and hard braking both stress heat-managed systems on a ZL1.

Ignition and Brakes: Both Need Heat Management
