GEOMET® is a proprietary water-based inorganic coating system developed by NOF Metal Coatings. It provides exceptional corrosion protection through a zinc-and-aluminum flake matrix bonded directly to the metal surface — without the environmental concerns of traditional zinc plating or electrogalvanizing.
Ghost Rotors applies GEOMET® to all rotor surfaces including:
The friction surface remains uncoated — the pad beds directly on bare iron for optimal friction, while all exposed non-friction surfaces stay rust-free.

Many budget aftermarket rotors use zinc electroplating for corrosion protection. While zinc plating works initially, it has significant limitations compared to GEOMET®:
GEOMET® outperforms zinc plating in standardized salt spray corrosion tests (ASTM B117) by 3–5x, maintaining protection in harsh winter, coastal, and high-humidity environments.

The water-based GEOMET® formula contains no heavy metals, no solvents, and no hexavalent chromium — making it compliant with the most stringent environmental regulations globally, including EU ELV (End of Life Vehicle) Directive.
For Ghost Rotors customers, this means:
Combined with our 2-piece rotor design and carbon ceramic pads, GEOMET® coating is the final layer of a complete, long-lasting brake system.
