Corvette Z06 Spark Plugs Guide: LT4 & LT6 Interval

LT4 vs LT6 Ignition Demands

The C7 Z06 LT4 is supercharged with moderate redline. The C8 Z06 LT6 is naturally aspirated with a flat-plane crank revving to 8,600 RPM. Both demand iridium plugs gapped to factory spec, but the LT6's high-RPM operation wears plugs faster under track use.

Replacement Interval and Spec

Refer to the points below for specs, intervals, and service tips.

  • ACDelco iridium plugs — confirm part number for your engine
  • Gap to factory spec only — do not widen for "performance"
  • Replace coils if misfire codes persist after plug service
  • C8: allow engine to cool; mid-engine bay gets extremely hot

Full Platform Service Window

When plugs are due, inspect air filters, diff fluid, and brakes. C8 Z06 owners should also check the frunk-area service items while the front end is accessible.
